A San Diego native, Shannyn started singing and performing by the ripe age of 7, yet it wasn’t until just a few years ago that she decided to start playing guitar and writing her own music. Shannyn was lucky enough to team up with Bobby Evans, a.k.a. D.J. Carter, on a couple of songs, "See Jane Drive" (written for NASCAR driver Leilani Munter) and “Show Me”. D.J. Carter helped to bring a hip-hop element into Shannyn’s acoustically driven, melodic songs. Since then, Shannyn has immersed herself in the entertainment field by writing and recording her music, as well as acting and modeling.
Although the band is no longer together, Shannyn continues to write and record her songs in the studio. She has been compared to such artists as Jewel and Madonna with a hip-hop meets rock edge to her music. She stays clear of wanting to sound too pop and tries hard to keep the live acoustic guitar style in her music. Her influences include everything from Sublime, Sheryl Crow, Coldplay, and Madonna. "I like all types of music, and don’t like to limit myself to just one style. Whatever moves me I’ll listen to" says Shannyn.
